CHICAGO – October 31, 2019 — Pharma Logistics acquired the pharmaceutical reverse distribution division of Stericycle, Inc. effective October 28, 2019.
Stericycle retail pharmacy customers using this service in the continental United States and in Puerto Rico will begin working with Pharma Logistics for their pharmaceutical reverse distribution needs.
“We are happy to welcome Stericycle’s returns customers into the Pharma Logistics family,” said Michael Zaccaro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pharma Logistics. “The strategic acquisition of Stericycle’s pharmaceutical reverse distribution division will further strengthen our position as the leader in the independent retail market, in addition to expanding our international service footprint to include the island of Puerto Rico. Our Rapid Credit Program will continue to accelerate much needed cash flow for these pharmacies while also providing them with safe and effective pharmaceutical disposal options.”
“Proper pharmaceutical disposal is an important environmental and social concern today. As a company exclusively focused on pharmaceutical reverse distribution, we are confident that Pharma Logistics will provide safe and compliant services to customers,” said Cindy Miller, Stericycle’s Chief Executive Officer.
Box and ship and onsite customers will see no interruption in service, with the processing of these returns moving immediately to the Pharma Logistics’ processing center in Libertyville, Illinois. Pharma Logistics’ Customer Advocates will work closely with the former Stericycle customers to ensure a smooth transition.
As part of the acquisition, Stericycle’s Onsite Service Technicians in Puerto Rico have joined the Pharma Logistics team to continue serving customers on the island. Additional details on the acquisition and transition are available at pharmalogistics.com.
