This policy addresses how Pharma Logistics (“The Company”) collects, uses, stores, discloses, and destroys data used in connection with the Company’s time clock system. This policy is intended to comply with state and federal laws, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS § 14/1, et seq (“BIPA”). We are providing employees with this notice because the data may be “biometric data or a biometric identifier” under BIPA and other laws.

Over time, the Company has engaged Vendors, including Paychex, to provide time clock systems. These time clock systems use data obtained by scanning your finger. The scanning process automatically converts your data into a template, which is a mathematical representation of the data. When you use the time clock system, its software matches your stored template to your current scan and allows you to clock in and out. Our understanding is that templates cannot be converted into fingerprints.

Templates may be collected, used, stored, disclosed, or disseminated to the time clock system, the Company, or Vendors. By using the time clock system, you consent to the Company, Vendors, and their affiliates collecting, capturing, storing, having access to, using, obtaining, possessing, and/or disclosing your template data. When the initial purpose for obtaining such data is satisfied, either due to termination of your employment or you’re moving into a role within the company for which template data is not used, the Company and/or Vendors will permanently destroy any template data relating to you as soon as practicable.

Template data is not sold, leased, or traded. The Company and Vendors use reasonable standards of care within their industries to store, transmit, or protect from disclosure any template data they may possess in a manner that is the same as or more protective than the way they store, transmit, or protect similar information. Copies of this policy are available to you or to the public upon request.
